Manufacturing

Manufacturing is an optional module of InvoiceFlash for companies that make what they sell. It takes the job from the customer's order to the finished product: which material is needed, who works on it, on which machine, how long it takes and what happens to the stock. It is installed separately and only if you need it; it works with the rest of InvoiceFlash and, if you have the Purchasing module, it also generates the supplier orders.

Bills of materials: the recipe of every product

Each manufactured item has its bill of materials, with two tabs: materials and operations. The cost is calculated automatically from the material prices and the time and hourly cost of each operation.

• A bill of materials can use other bills of materials as components, with the full tree and the detail of where each part is used.
• Refresh the costs when prices change, duplicate a bill to create a variant and attach drawings and documents.
• Import and export to Excel to load the catalogue you already have in one go.

Manufacturing orders, straight from the sales order

With the Create M.O. button in the sales order list, every selected order becomes a manufacturing order without retyping anything. The order keeps its section and machine, the sequence of operations with start and end dates, the units to make and the defective ones, and the planned costs against the real ones.

• Printable sheets for the order and for each operation, with barcodes for the order, the operation and the product.
• When the order is finished, the stock of the manufactured product goes up and the stock of the materials goes down. If it is reopened by mistake, everything is reverted.
• Supplier orders generated from the order itself, one per supplier, and sent by email from the same program (requires the Purchasing module).

Know what is missing before you start

Each order compares its materials with what you have: the stock, what other open orders already reserve and what is on order from suppliers and still to be received. You will see in green what is covered, in yellow what will arrive with the purchase orders and in red what is really missing. The order list summarises the status of all of them at a glance.

Work logs and shop-floor terminal

Operators record their work from a terminal for mobile or tablet: a minimal screen, large buttons and barcode scanner support. Scan the order sheet, scan the operation and the step starts; one tap pauses or finishes it. The hours are recorded per worker, machine and step, and are used to calculate the real labour cost of each order.

Machine planning and load control

A Gantt chart shows the work of each machine with the dates of its steps: in progress, pending, finished, late and overlapping. Below it, the weekly load in hours per machine and per section flags bottlenecks in red when capacity is exceeded, so you can spread the work before it runs late.

External warehouses: painting, galvanising and other workshops

When a part goes out to an external workshop, the delivery is recorded and the stock goes down; when it comes back, it is received, in full or in part, and the stock goes up. You always know what each workshop holds and when it will be returned.

• An external operation step generates the delivery with one button and is marked as done only when everything sent has arrived.
• Printable delivery note for the driver or the workshop, with signature boxes for delivery, transport and receipt.
• Email reminder to each workshop with what it has overdue.

Stock history and adjustments with a reason

Every stock change made by Manufacturing is recorded: which order or delivery caused it, who, when, and the stock before and after. If the real count does not match, the manual adjustment leaves the correction recorded with its reason. And if someone changes the stock outside Manufacturing, the system detects it and shows it as a mismatch.

Reports and master data

The production reports are under Reports > Manufacturing. Sections, machines and operations, with their time and hourly cost, are maintained under Files > Manufacturing.
